MSMHC Religious PROFESSION 2021

The Feast of the Mary Immaculate Conception is very dear to the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians. On this Solemn Feast the Missionary Sisters make their Religious Profession. As usual, this year too is remarked by thirty-four novices making their First Profession and sixteen young Sisters making their Perpetual Profession to the Lord and for the service of the Church.

On 8th December 2021, the Little Flower Convent Hatigaon, the genaralate of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians had the Perpetual Profession of their sixteen Sisters in the presence of Sr. Philomena Mathew MSMHC, the Superior General. Archbishop Rt. Rev. John Moolachira, the bishop of Guwahati Solemnized and presided over the Holy Eucharist and the ceremonies of the Religious Profession. Archbishop in his homily highlighted that, “the profession is fixed on this day is an indication that these Sisters will serve Jesus and promote his mission with undivided and pure hearts as the blessed Virgin Mary.” The cordial presence of many priests, religious and friends added beauty and blessings to the day.

It was indeed a privilege for St. Margaret’s Convent Shillong, to prepare the venue for the First Profession. After the many years of formation especially the last two years of novitiate, 34 young girls came forward  courageously to commit themselves to the Lord and for his service. Hence, on the feast of Mary Immaculate Conception, thirty-four novices made their First Profession in the presence of Sr. Maria Sangma MSMHC, the provincial Superior of Shillong Province. Archbishop Rt. Rev. Victor Lyngdoh, the bishop of Shillong presided over the Holy Eucharist and the ceremonies of the Religious Profession. The day was graced by the presence of many priests, religious and well-wishers.

The celebrations of the day were ended with a thanks giving Prayer Service. Each member of the Congregation raised their grateful hearts to God for their holy vocation and His faithfulness in leading and guiding them in their religious life.
